Senate Meeting October 7
Masquerade

-          Tickets will be free so we can generate more interest/involvement in honors events
-          Assigning tickets
o   Numbered – start with 150 and can go up to 600
o   “Selling” in campus center
§  Every day the week leading up to the event, 3 days the week before that
§  Will keep a list with ticket number, name of “buyer” and their email so can send reminders
o   Carrying to class
§  Each responsible to keep list of ticket number, who got the ticket and their email
o   Available in Office at Kelsey’s desk

o   Will be open since we are allowing more people to come

o   Publicize which ones are coming and as what character (if known)

o   Possible professors to judge

o   Judges will also be in costume and in character when judging
o   Contestants judged both on costume and on being in character
o   Judging starts when everyone arrives, judges will pick top 10-15 to be in the on stage competition out of everyone
Other Business
-          No senate meeting this coming week
o   Meet as usual on the 21st
o   Possible Monday meeting on the 18th to work on masquerade stuff
-          Have a senator or two involves in staff meetings? (Thursdays at 2pm)
-          Have a blog to put up the agenda/meeting notes on instead of emailing them
-          Make meeting next year be at a set time and have everyone commit to coming to meetings if they want to be an active part of senate
o   Also have a list of people who are not active members but who are willing to help out at events if needed?
o   If are already an accepted member of senate but have to take a semester off because of a class will not be considered a senate member for that semester but can be a part of senate again the next semester without having to apply again
